Important updates related to pandemic protocol

3/23/2022

Dear People of Saints James and Andrew,
We have a couple of important updates related to pandemic protocol. First, the Clergy & Vestry have adopted a new flexible masking policy which will take effect on April 1, 2022:
Effective April 2022:  Saints James and Andrew has adopted a Flexible Masking Policy in which changes are based on CDC recommendation and other local factors. When you arrive at SsJA, you will see the current mask requirement posted at our doors, either Masks Required, Masks Recommended, or Masks Respected.  Our masking level may change at any time. Individual programs and events will communicate their masking level ahead of time. Masks are required for those who are not fully vaccinated and boosted.
Second, with the bishop’s permission, we will resume use of the common cup, beginning Maundy Thursday, April 14. Consistent with diocesan recommendation, intinction (dipping bread into the common cup) will not be permitted, as it increases the risk of contagion. If you prefer not to receive from the common cup, you may pause at the chalice to hear the words of administration or return directly to your seat after receiving the bread.
As the weather allows we will continue to open windows and doors to circulate fresh air during worship. We encourage everyone to respect others’ varying comfort levels when it comes to social distancing and masking.
We look forward to seeing you in worship this spring.

Yours,
Rev. Heather & Rev. Molly
