There is a lot happening at James and Andrew this winter! Questions? Contact us.
Winter Festival Sunday & Annual Meeting: On Sunday, January 21 we will have one combined service at 10 a.m. in our Winter Sanctuary in the Parish Hall (no 8 a.m. service that Sunday). Following the service we will have a few minutes to grab a cup of coffee, and then we will proceed with the Annual Meeting. At the meeting we will elect Vestry representatives, delegates to Diocesan Convention, learn who will receive the Saints James and Andrew cross, view the 2018 budget, and much more. We anticipate the meeting will begin at 11 a.m. After the meeting we will flip the space and enjoy a meal and fellowship together. If you plan to attend Annual Meeting, please sign up outside the Chapel or at the sign up table on Sunday morning. Barnabas Guild, our kitchen resource team, will be preparing a meal to serve. If you are willing to help prepare the meal, bring a dessert, or help clean up (this is particularly needed) please also sign up outside the Chapel or at the sign up table on Sunday morning. We will be passing the hat during the meal, if you'd like to make a donation towards the cost of the meal. Thank you in advance for your presence and support.
Renewal Works: One of the tools we will use this year to help us examine our spiritual life as a parish, is a program called Renewal Works, sponsored by Forward Movement. The program helps parishes to make spiritual growth the priority, and in turn reinvigorating the church and strengthening disciples. It will begin with a Spiritual Life Inventory that every parishioner will be asked to take. The inventory will be open for three weeks, starting January 28, 2018. The information will be compiled by the good folks at Renewal Works, and then a team of parishioners, led by Maggie Sweeney and Ella Ingraham, will consider how we move forward with this information. What steps do we need to take if we are to truly grow and make spiritual growth our priority? You'll be hearing more about this program in the coming weeks.
Church Chats: Discerning our vision, mission, and values As an emerging parish, we recognize how important it is that we discern our new parish's vision, mission, and values. A subcommittee of the Vestry, led by Rev. Molly, is working on drafting a statement of vision, mission, and values that will be shared at three church chats in early 2018. We hope all parishioners will participate in these church chats, so that your feedback will go back to the subcommittee who will make a final proposal for the Vestry to consider at their April 14, 2018 retreat. We ask that you please sign up on the bulletin board outside the chapel for upcoming Church Chats:
