This Sunday's Announcements

3/15/2026

Picture
To submit a parish announcement for the leaflet, please email the office by Monday for the following Sunday’s leaflet

This Sunday

10:00 a.m. - Children’s Chapel
We invite children to gather for singing, stories, and crafts during the first half of Sunday services: Mar 15, 29; Apr 12, 26; May 3, 17.  If you have questions or interest in volunteering to help with Children's Chapel, please contact Cara Hins at [email protected].

Sabbath Poetry Gathering in All Saints Chapel
Share your enjoyment of Wendell Berry's poetry and gain insight into the Sabbath Poetry of Lent booklet: join members of the Green Team in the Chapel after church for a half hour discussion of the poems and scripture. We will have printouts of the week's poem and scripture reading. Snack provided. Contact any member of the Green Team if you have questions.

Support Grace in Haiti this Lent
Again this year we are partnering with Grace Church, Amherst, during Lent, to support the mission of Saint Matthieu School in Bayonnais, Haiti. The elementary school in rural Haiti has 279 students from pre-school to 9th grade served by 19 staff members, and provides a safe haven for children in a country continually beset by social turmoil, food insecurity, and gang violence. To contribute to this mission as part of your Lenten practice, you can send a donation to the office (or use tithely), noting that it is for St. Matthieu, Haiti. To date we have raised $2,420.51.

This week, March 16-21:

March 17 at 6 p.m. - Lectio Divina
All are invited and welcomed to participate in Lectio Divina this Lent - offered on Tuesdays from 6-6:30 p.m. in our chapel (Mar 10, 17, 24). Lectio means “read,” and Lectio Divina is an ancient Christian practice that functions much like a form of Christian mindfulness or meditation. It helps us move from simply reading Scripture to listening for God within it. It’s not a Bible study, and it’s not about analyzing the text. Instead, it’s a slow, prayerful way of receiving Scripture with the heart. Those interested in participating are encouraged to let facilitators Elle Wildhagen ([email protected]) and Therese Fitzsimmons ([email protected]) know by emailing them, though walk ins are welcome at each gathering.

March 18 - Worship Opportunities
  • Self-Guided Stations of Cross accessible through Church
  • Rite of Reconciliation with Rector available upon request
  • 6:15 a.m. Morning Prayer on YouTube
  • 10 a.m. Eucharist - Reflecting on Cyril of Jerusalem, Bishop and Theologian, 386 (readings) in Chapel; then coffee hour.

Coming Soon

March 29 - War in the Middle East with Rev. Ted Thornton
Please join us in the Meeting Room after worship on Palm Sunday, March 29 for a discussion of the latest war in the Middle East. I will bring some slides of maps and background material I've used in my teaching and talks around the area. We will include a brief update on Gaza. Bring a bag lunch if you wish along with your questions. We will conclude with a prayer for peace and reconciliation.   - Ted Thornton

March 29 - Easter Flowers Due
Consider giving flowers for Easter in thanksgiving for/or in memory of a loved one. We encourage you to use our online form to submit your memorials and thanksgivings HERE. It will help us be accurate. You can also make a donation in the traditional way, using the Easter Flower envelopes available with the ushers. Place your envelope in the collection plate or return to the office. Suggested donation of $25.  Please write ‘Easter Flowers’ in the memo line.

April 12 at 11:30 a.m. Coffee & Conversation & Seeking Volunteers
Join us for coffee and conversations in the Whiteman Room & Cloisters on the following Sundays: April 12; May 3; May 24 (Pentecost); June 7 (Bishop Visitation). We are also seeking volunteers to support this ministry. If you have expressed interest in helping in the past or would like to now, please let Allyson Michael know by sending her an email with your contact information at [email protected].

April 12 at 3 p.m. - Bishop Doug Farewell at St. Matthew’s, Worcester
Join us as we give thanks for Bishop Fisher’s 13+ years as our chief pastor and spiritual leader. This event is hosted by the parishes of Worcester County Corridor and will be the final in a series of three opportunities to gather, pray and share refreshment with the Bishop and his wife, the Rev. Betsy Fisher. Individuals are invited to make financial gifts in thanksgiving for Bishop Fisher’s service to Building Bridges Veterans Initiative. Make a Gift.

April 18 at 11 a.m. - Charlie Houghton

June 7 at 10 a.m. - Bishop Visitation
Save the date. Our new bishop will join us for a visitation that will feature baptisms, confirmations, receptions, and more.

Holy Tuesday—March 31 at 7:00 p.m.
A healing service where the community is invited to gather together to offer healing, hope, and thanksgiving.

Holy Wednesday—April 1 at 7:00 p.m.
This service of spoken Compline features soothing prayers for the soul at the end of the day.

Maundy Thursday—April 2 at 7:00 p.m.

Good Friday—April 3

All Day - Prayer; Stations of the Cross
The church will be open to pray, rest, be. Stations of the Cross booklets can be found on the floor near the baptismal font for a self-guided journey through our Stations of the Cross.

7:00 p.m. - Good Friday Worship
This service commemorates the crucifixion of Jesus, and includes a reading of the Passion gospel, music, and solemn prayers.

Easter Vigil—April 4 at 7:00 p.m.
This service is the primary celebration of Easter, beginning in darkness. The worship features the kindling of new fire, lighting the Paschal candle, the Exsultet, music, readings from the Hebrew Scriptures, the renewal of our baptismal vows, and the Eucharist. This special service will also feature the baptism of Desmond Drake.

Easter Sunday—April 5

6:45 a.m. - Easter Sunrise Hike and Devotional
Celebrate that "He is Risen" by rising and shining for a sunrise hike. Meet Erin Donnally Drake and Erica Burns at the Poet's Seat parking lot at 6:00 am for a hike up to Poet's Seat. At the top, we will hold a brief morning devotional. Those who wish to simply join us at the top without the hike, should plan to drive up to the top by 6:45 am. We will walk down the road after we conclude. Questions? Contact Erin Donnally Drake ([email protected])

10:00 a.m. - Easter Sunday Worship
A celebration of Christ’s resurrection with music and Holy Eucharist. Following the service, join the youth group for an egg hunt in the side yard. Kids 0 - 11 are welcome to join.
