Ash Wednesday Worship We will begin our observance of a holy Lent on February 18 You are invited to wear your ashes, to claim repentance, grace and deep relationship with God for the challenges of your daily life. Join us for any of the following worship opportunities: Ash Wednesday Worship at 10 a.m. The Imposition of Ashes and Holy Eucharist in All Saints Chapel. Ashes to Go from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. "Ashes to Go", a new approach to a centuries-old Christian tradition, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m near the corner of Church and Federal Streets in front of the church. Ash Wednesday Worship at 7 p.m. The Imposition of Ashes and Holy Eucharist in the Church. The service will also be live-streamed. Support Grace in Haiti Again this year we are partnering with Grace Church, Amherst, during Lent, to support the mission of Saint Matthieu School in Bayonnais, Haiti. The elementary school in rural Haiti has 279 students from pre-school to 9 th grade served by 19 staff members, and provides a safe haven for children in a country continually beset by social turmoil, food insecurity, and gang violence. On Sunday, March 1, members from Grace who have worked closely with the school will visit to fill us in with updates. To contribute to this mission as part of your Lenten practice, you can send a donation to the office (or use tithely), noting that it is for St. Matthieu, Haiti. Grow in Faith in Community Mondays at 6:30 p.m. - Bible Study (Zoom) Emmaus Companions reflects on scripture. For Zoom link - Charlie Houghton ([email protected]). Tuesdays at 6 p.m. - Lectio Divina (in person) All are invited and welcomed to participate in Lectio Divina this Lent - offered on Tuesdays from 6-6:30 p.m. in our chapel (Feb 24, Mar 3, 10, 17, 24). Lectio means “read,” and Lectio Divina is an ancient Christian practice that functions much like a form of Christian mindfulness or meditation. It helps us move from simply reading Scripture to listening for God within it. It’s not a Bible study, and it’s not about analyzing the text. Instead, it’s a slow, prayerful way of receiving Scripture with the heart. Those interested in participating are encouraged to let facilitators Elle Wildhagen ([email protected]) and Therese Fitzsimmons ([email protected]) know by emailing them, though walk ins are welcome at each gathering. Wednesdays at 6:15 a.m. - Morning Prayer (YouTube) Morning Prayer is offered on YouTube. Wednesdays at 10 a.m. - Holy Eucharist & Coffee Hour (in person) Worship offered in All Saints Chapel; led by the Rector. Followed by a coffee hour. Wednesdays - Stations of the Cross (self-guided, in person) The church will be open from dawn to dusk on Wednesdays with materials available in the church entrance (narthex) and near the baptismal font where the stations begin. You may also travel the stations when the office is open using the archway door (Tues 9:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. | Thur & Fri 9:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.). Wednesdays - Rite of Reconciliation (private confession, in person) The Rite of Reconciliation is offered on Wednesdays in Lent upon request. This sacramental rite is a chance to name before God and someone else the things for which we are sorry, or ashamed, or that burden our conscience. Then in return, we hear from God and from another person the truth that we are forgiven, loved, and reconciled. Our tradition’s approach to this rite is that: all can, some should, none must. Please note: this form of confession is always available upon request, and is offered in addition to our weekly worship’s general confession, and subsequent absolution; it is meant to help us as followers of Christ to recognize that we are always in need of God’s grace, love, and mercy. For more information or to schedule the rite, contact our Rector: [email protected] Thursdays at 6 p.m. - Sermon on the Mount Devotional Gatherings (Zoom) Join Episcopalians from across Province 1 (New England) in a weekly Zoom gathering here to reflect on this Sermon on the Mount Devotional, featuring reflection from our own Lay Preachers Julie Carew and Will Harron.
