Visit the Prayer Tree on the Front Lawn.
We invite everyone to come and tie a prayer ribbon on the tree. Yarn strands for your prayers are in a basket on the steps. Pick a piece of yarn, think about your prayer and tie it on the tree. We also invite letters or drawings including your prayers. The time of solstice is a time for reflection and a wonderful time to remember what you are grateful for and to bless others and all of life. Let us together hold a positive vision for the planet. Let us embrace ourselves, our loved ones and all of life with love. Sign up for a Family Worship Kit by December 13. We are offering free family worship kits that will be dropped off at your door the week of Christmas. These kits are geared towards children and tweens, and include a simple liturgy, the Christmas story, a hymnal, and all the necessary liturgical accoutrements (coloring, candles, supplies to create a Prayers of the People Chain, etc.). These kits are available to everyone in the parish, we simply ask that you sign up by December 13 by emailing or calling the office. We also invite everyone to check out the new section of our websites, Resources for Children & Families. Sponsor a Sunday Sandwiches meal by December 13. Ordinarily we decorate the church with beautiful Christmas flowers given in memory or thanksgiving of loved ones. This year we will shift gears and invite memorial or thanksgiving offerings of loved ones to go towards sponsoring Sunday Sandwiches. Each meal costs $2.65, and we serve 85-95 people a week. Any amount helps. If you would like to sponsor Sunday Sandwiches in memory or thanksgiving of a loved one, please submit your names by calling or emailing the office by December 13. Please submit your donation earmarked “Sunday Sandwiches”. Memorials and thanksgivings will be included in our worship leaflets posted on our website on December 23.
