Ordinary Time in Extraordinary Times
Some of you may remember, back in 2018, participating in the Renewal Works Spiritual Life Inventory of our Parish. Some of our discussion around the results of that inventory were guided by a Spiritual Continuum comprised of four main characterizations of our respective spiritual journeys and growth.
Some of us identified with:
1.) Exploring a life with God in Christ; others with
2.) Growing a life with God in Christ; still others identified with
3.) Deepening a life with God in Christ; and some of us identified with being
4.) Centered in a life with God in Christ.
With this in mind, on the 3rd of May, we extend an invitation to all to meet (albeit virtually) to discuss that portion of the church year, following the Day of Pentecost all the way to the First Sunday in Advent, known as Ordinary Time. For many, this is the long plateau between the special times of Advent through Pentecost. For many this is the time of putting into practice all that has resulted from our reflection, prayer, and meditation, from our waiting for the birth of Christ through Advent, our walk through a Holy Lent to Holy Week and our celebration of the Resurrection. The context of our lives has certainly changed over this past year. Please join us in this discussion of putting our faith into daily practice as we enter this anything but ordinary time.
