Kids & Youth

Kid-Friendly Worship
We seek to make worship as meaningful an experience for children as possible, and we encourage their participation throughout the service.  Kids are invited to help present offertory gifts; serve as an acolyte, digital minister, lector, or usher; and join the clergy in offering the dismissal.  We also have a children's corner for our youngest members to comfortably move about during worship.
Children's Chapel Service
Twice monthly during the program year, young children will be invited to a time of fun and formation during our Sunday Liturgies. A rotating host of parents will be facilitating the Children's Chapel in the Meeting Room during the first half of the service. For the current schedule of upcoming Children's Chapel services or to join the SsJA Family Ministry email list , please contact us.
Youth Group and Teen Confirmation Class
We offer special events for our tweens and teens throughout the year, and encourage our youth to participate in worship by serving as a lector, usher, and/ or acolyte. We believe that if our youth participate in the worship and outreach, the experience will affirm their place at the table as young leaders in the church.  For the current schedule of upcoming youth group gatherings or teen confirmation class or to join the youth group mailing list, please contact us.

Safe Church & Social Media

All of our staff and volunteers that work with children are required to attend Safe Church Training and have a background check using iCORI, performed by our Safe Church Coordinator, every three years to ensure the safety of the most vulnerable in our community.  We encourage you to read our Safe Church Policies and the Diocesan Social Media Policy.  Please also note that from time to time the church will record our worship services and events on video and film to share on our social media as a way to increase our evangelism to the larger community.  If you would prefer that you not be included on video or film, please notify our clergy, and they will ensure your wishes are respected.
